I’m based in Connecticut and photograph couples all over New England, from the Connecticut shoreline to Boston, the Berkshires and coastal Maine. I love to travel, so if your story takes you somewhere farther away, I’d be thrilled to come along. Wherever love takes us!

For engagement sessions, reaching out one to three months ahead is ideal. Fall weekends in New England fill up fastest, so book early if you’re dreaming of foliage. For weddings, most couples book nine to fifteen months before the big day. If your date is sooner, still reach out. I’ll always do my best to make it work.

It starts with the inquiry form. From there, I’ll reply by email, and we’ll set up a quick call to get to know each other and talk through your vision. When you’re ready, I’ll send over a contract and a retainer invoice. Once both are complete, your date is officially yours.

Sessions within about an hour of home are included, with no travel fee. For locations farther away, a small fee covers mileage (and lodging for destination sessions). I’ll always include it in your quote upfront, so there are never any surprises.

Choose outfits that feel like you, just slightly elevated. For a timeless, editorial look, stick with solid colors and soft neutrals like cream, white, camel, olive, black or navy, and skip big logos and busy patterns. Coordinate rather than match: pick a palette and let each outfit play within it. Texture and movement, like a flowy dress, a knit sweater or a tailored jacket, always photograph beautifully. And wear shoes you can walk in! I’m always happy to look over outfit options before your session.

The best location is one that means something to you, or simply one you love. Some of my favorites are the brownstones and cobblestone streets of Beacon Hill in Boston, the Connecticut shoreline at golden hour, and anywhere with New England fall foliage. Once you book, I’ll send you a list of ideas that fit your style.

Golden hour, the hour or so before sunset, gives you soft, warm, flattering light, and it’s when I schedule most sessions. Early morning is just as dreamy, and it’s the best way to have popular spots like Acorn Street all to yourselves. Midday sun is harsh, so I avoid it whenever we can.

Absolutely, and you’re in good company! Almost every couple tells me this. I’ll guide you the whole time with simple prompts and gentle direction, so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands. Most of my favorite images happen in the in-between moments when you forget I’m there and just enjoy each other.

We’ll keep an eye on the forecast together. If the weather isn’t cooperating, we can reschedule your session for free. Some couples choose to embrace it, though, and a clear umbrella on a rainy day can make for incredibly romantic photos.

You’ll receive a few sneak peeks within a few days of your session. Your full engagement gallery arrives within two to three weeks, and wedding galleries within six to eight weeks. Every image is hand-edited, and it’s worth the wait.

For a one-hour engagement session, you can expect at least 50 edited, high-resolution images, and often more. Wedding galleries typically include 50–100 images for every hour of coverage. Your photos are delivered in a private online gallery where you can download them and share them with family.

Yes! Every gallery comes with a personal print release, so you can print your photos anywhere and share them freely with family and friends. When you post on social media, I always appreciate a tag at @crobesphotography.
